Why westarted.
Halvern started in a Manchester spare room in 2021. Our founders had run finance at two scale-ups and lost a week of every month to exports, matching and chasing receipts.
Banks got faster and accounting software got prettier, but month-end never got shorter. So we built one ledger that reconciles itself, an agent that handles the bookkeeping, and forecasts that start from what happened.
Today we are a team of 46 finance people, engineers and designers, most of us in Manchester. None of us wants another dashboard nobody opens.
